And when Jesus entered Peter’s house, He saw his mother-in-law lying sick with a fever. He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she rose and began to serve Him. Matthew 8:14-15

Throughout the New Testament, lives transformed by the healing touch of Jesus. Those He has healed end up serving others. Jesus said, “…the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and give His life as a ransom for many,” Mark 10:45. Jesus said “…if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him,” John 12:26. Christians do not serve God, one another, and the world in order to gain God’s grace, but in response to God’s grace. Jesus set aside His comfort and rights in order to serve people, which Christians respond to by giving up their comfort and rights in order to serve.

We follow in the steps of Jesus daily as we serve Him in our church community, in our families, in our neighborhoods, and around the world. If you have met Him and accepted the sacrifice He made to redeem you from death, you are qualified to join in His work. Together we will discover His plan for you as a vital part of His Body – the Church. You will be amazed at the joy you experience and how you grow in maturity while you pour your life into others in service of the risen Lord.

Part of God’s design for His church is that His people would serve one another out of love. This is why Paul told the Thessalonians to “encourage one another and build one another up (1 Thessalonians 5:11).” The Holy Spirit has given gifts to God’s people in order that they may serve one another well (1 Corinthians 12:7).

Your passions, talents, skills, and gifts can all point you to where God wants you to serve. If you are not quite sure of your gifts, a helpful tool is a gift inventory. Places to use your gifts in service to the church and community can be found here. We want to help you find your place of ministry, and the best way to start that conversation is by filling out our volunteer questionnaire form here.
