Men become men in the company of men. That, quite simply, is the purpose of 1st Mate Ministries at Village.
It's tempting to believe that we're strong enough to handle life on our own, but the truth is that we men are most vulnerable when we're isolated from other men. When we stumble, it is almost always because we're alone and disconnected from other believers who can help us through.
We all need brothers we can trust, a group of men who will help us face our fears, trials and secrets. We need a place of security, support, growth and accountability. We need a place in The Crew.
Most men travel through life carefully projecting an image that says, "I'm okay." Privately, however, they are battling huge inner turmoil and conflict. Without healthy outlets and relationships to turn to, they are like the seaman isolated in the storm who soon becomes fare for the howling winds and pounding surf. In The Crew you will find men helping each other stand watch, rowing together and caring enough to confront one another in a Godly manner.

FOR MEN IN CRISIS
No matter how hard we try to avoid it, there are times that we, as men, find ourselves trapped in enemy waters. If you are battling difficult circumstances in any area of your life (marriage, family, career, financial, sexual, parenting, or something else) the men of The Crew are ready and willing to stand beside you and guide you back onto a firm foundation.

"Man In The Mirror" Men's Bible Study
Every Friday morning you can find the men of
The Crew and the surrounding community gathering toexamine questions that are relevant to every man.
The Crew meets at the Captain's Mess (Building 9) at 6:15 am for coffee, donuts, juice and fruit. The study begins at 6:30 am, and we are out the door at 7:30 am. The Captain's Mess is the place to be on Fridays.
Men's Breakfast & Bible Study - NOT MEETING FOR WHOLE MONTH OF JUNE AND FIRST WEEKEND OF JULY
Start your weekend off right with a breakfast fit for that rugged man in all of us. It is served in the galley (Fellowship Hall) every Saturday at 7:30 am sharp. Once your hunger is satisfied you will have a chance to fill up on God's Word as men study the scriptures together. By Saturday that tank can get near empty. So men, bring your Bible and your appetite; it's a Saturday morning cruise you won't want to miss.
