Jeremiah 8:5-22
Jeremiah lived in a day much like ours. His country had been blessed and had prospered but had forgotten its roots and its God. Jeremiah was a man with a burden for the way in which his country had turned its back on God. With a weeping heart he asks, "Where is the Lord who brought you out of Egypt?" (Jeremiah 2:6). Then he came straight to the bottom line with a word from God, "They have turned their backs to me and not their face," (Jeremiah 2:27). Today, Dr. Steven Davies will ask and answer four important questions every follower of Christ should ask and know the answer to.
A QUESTION FOR THE AMERICAN PUBLIC “Why, then, have the people of Jerusalem gone the wrong way and not turned back?...” Jeremiah 8:5 (NCV)
PEW “Why are we just sitting here?...” Jeremiah 8:14 (NCV)
POLITICIAN "...but God says, “Why did the people make me angry...?” Jeremiah 8:19 (NCV)
PULPIT “...so why aren’t the hurts of my people healed?” Jeremiah 8:22 (NCV)
We are living in the most important days of modern history. These are days of tremendous possibility. Revivals are usually born out of days of great despair when hope is almost gone. It is not too late–if we stop asking “What?” and begin to deal with root issues by asking “Why?”
Why won’t you trust God today in a relationship filled with hope? Only you hold the answer! |
