Sermon Notes

We know that all of our stuff is God’s stuff, but how does that practically play out in our lives? This message brings home the spiritual reality that a major aspect of honoring God relates to how we manage and allocate the tangible blessings He has given us.

DON’T GIVE IT, BRING IT IN FAITH

"Consecrate to me every firstborn male. The first offspring of every womb among the Israelites belongs to me, whether man or animal." Exodus 13:2

DON’T GIVE IT, BRING IT TO THE PROPER PLACE

"The first of the firstfruits of your land you shall bring into the house of the LORD your God." Exodus 23:19 (NKJV)

"In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD." Genesis 4:3

DON’T GIVE IT, BRING WHAT BELONGS TO GOD

"Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine." Proverbs 3:9-10

"Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. But you ask, ‘How do we rob you?’ In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse–the whole nation of you–because you are robbing me." Malachi 3:8-9

"‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,’ says the LORD Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.’" Malachi 3:10
