Sermon Notes
Matt. 10:16-27; Luke 6:35-42; John 13:1-17
Followers of the Lord Jesus Christ are called disciples. The word "disciple" describes the relationship between Christ and those who follow Him. It signifies that a person has been trained or taught. Jesus is the teacher and we are the learners. He leads us to the place of identity where we are identified with Him. There are three points of identity that the follower of Christ is to have with their Lord:
I. THE IDENTITY OF DISCIPLINE (Matt. 10:16-27)
Personal Persecution
Spiritual Opposition
II. THE IDENTITY OF DISCERNMENT (Luke 6:35-42)
Knowledgeable Maturity
Authoritative Judgment
III. THE IDENTITY OF DEVOTION (John 13:1-17)
Reality
Morality |
